The University of Caloocan City (UCC) - College of Law proudly honored its 2025 Bar Examination Passers in a deeply meaningful and inspiring Testimonial Ceremony, an occasion that celebrated not only academic achievement but also integrity, perseverance, and lifelong commitment to the legal profession.

"Passing and joining the Bar is more than a personal achievement—it is a promise to uphold integrity. It is a noble profession that defends society."

The program formally commenced with the opening remarks of Atty. Dexter Calizar whose message immediately set the tone for the ceremony. He emphasized that becoming a lawyer is far more than earning a title. His words served as a powerful reminder that the practice of law demands ethical responsibility, discipline, and commitment to justice.

Atty. Jhoana Marie P. Mahait-Galang inspired the future lawyers on her mantra "My time has come", sharing her story of how she would always remind herself in every stage that she underwent. She reflected on the mindset cultivated throughout law school and encouraged future lawyers to embrace the process rather than rush it, reminding them to cherish their time as students instead of pressuring themselves with the thought that it is their “last year.”

"Ang sarap-sarap mangarap sa Caloocan", Atty. Christian Lean Calano also expressed deep gratitude for the institution that nurtured his aspirations. He reassured aspiring lawyers that they are never alone: "Huwag kayong matakot dahil kasama ninyo ang UCC Community at buong Caloocan City."

Their testimonies echoed a shared truth. UCC does not only teach law; it builds confidence, community, and courage.

In his address, Chairman of the Board of Regents, Hon. Dale Gonzalo Malapitan acknowledged the immense sacrifices behind each success. He encouraged the new lawyers to fully embrace the joy and excitement of the moment, and to allow that same joy to inspire them to become lawyers who are tapat, matino, at may malasakit.

He reminded that passing the Bar is not the end of their dreams, but the beginning of a lifelong commitment.

He posed a challenge that resonated deeply: "How can you best serve our people, your city, your country with integrity?"

Hon. Malapitan also extended cash incentives to the UCC lawyers both as recognition of their remarkable achievement and as encouragement as they now entered their professional journeys.

To formally convey the batch’s expression of gratitude, Class 2025 Valedictorian Atty. Axel Lei C. Orosa delivered a moving message on behalf of her fellow passers. She described their journey as one built on partnership between students and professors, families and mentors, and the entire UCC community.

The celebration reached another milestone when the University of Caloocan City Officer-in-charge Atty. Jared Nas, together with the Board of Regents, formally announced the appointment of Atty. Dexter Calizar as the new Dean of the College of Law.

In his acceptance message, Dean Calizar expressed deep gratitude and humility. With 30 years of service in the academe, he shared his commitment to continue strengthening the College of Law under the vision of leadership of the Malapitan administration ensuring that UCC produces not only competent lawyers but principled defenders of justice.

From sacrifices endured to dreams realized, UCC once again proved that it does not merely produce lawyers. It molds advocates of integrity, defenders of society, and public servants driven by purpose.
