In its continuing pursuit of academic excellence and institutional growth, the University of Caloocan City (UCC) successfully conducted a benchmarking visit to Gordon College in Olongapo City last February 5, 2026. The activity aimed to gain valuable insights into best practices that would further enhance UCC’s academic programs, administrative systems, and quality assurance mechanisms.

The benchmarking focused on key areas such as the BS Nursing and BS Midwifery programs, quality assurance and accreditation, research and community extension, faculty policies, registrar and human resource operations, entrepreneurship and employability initiatives, student development, and general administrative processes.

University Officials were warmly welcomed by Gordon College President, Dr. Imelda D. P. Soriano and her leadership team, who underscored the importance of strong accreditation systems and local government support in sustaining quality education.

Through meaningful exchanges, UCC learned from Gordon College’s established practices in accreditation, research incentives, extension services, faculty workload and compensation, efficient document processing, and student-centered services. A tour of facilities, particularly the health sciences laboratories and support offices further enriched the benchmarking experience.

The visit provided UCC with practical models and strategic insights that will help guide future program development, policy enhancement, and institutional planning, reinforcing the University’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in higher education.
